Paris Saint-Germain are injecting youth into their backline beginning earlier this year with the arrival of Lucas Beraldo and then this summer with the signing of Willian Pacho.
The youth movement on defense is only getting started for PSG as Marquinhos is now in his 30s, Lucas Hernández is coming off a severe knee injury, and Milan Skriniar doesn’t figure into Luis Enrique’s plans amid rumors linking him to Juventus.
Reports from Brazil continue to link Real Madrid with rising star Vitor Reis. The young defender has already made an impression with Palmeiras’ first team and has caught the eye of several top clubs.
If Real Madrid decides to take action, they’ll face a tough negotiation with Palmeiras and competition from at least three other major European clubs. According to ESPN Brazil (h/t Fichajes), Manchester United, Arsenal, and PSG are also interested in the promising defender.
With a contract that runs until December 2028 and a release clause set at €100 million, it’s unlikely any club will rush into making an offer right now. Instead, it makes sense for top clubs to use this season to evaluate the young Brazilian closely.
Reis has also clarified that his focus is on his current club. “Right now, my mind is fully on Palmeiras and making my mark here. I take things day by day—I’m still very young and just starting my professional career. I want to win titles with Palmeiras and establish myself.”
