Mike Sautter caught up with Nebraska women’s basketball freshman guard Britt Prince to discuss her offseason preparation, adjusting to the college level, and how she’s handling the high expectations heading into her first season with the Huskers.
Q: How has the offseason gone for you? Are you getting acclimated to the team and environment?
Britt Prince: It’s been going well so far. It’s great to be able to get on the court with my teammates and be in this atmosphere. It’s been a lot of fun, and there’s a lot of depth on the team, especially in the guard position.
Q: There’s a lot of depth in the backcourt with guards returning. How have you adjusted so far?
Britt Prince: I think it’s been good. Having Allison [Weidner] back in practice at full contact now has been really helpful. We’re definitely going to have good depth in the backcourt, and I think we’ll be fine.
Q: What’s been the biggest adjustment for you from high school to college basketball?
Britt Prince: The speed and physicality, for sure. Everyone’s bigger, faster, and stronger at this level, so I’m just working on getting used to that.
Q: You came in with high expectations from Husker fans and for yourself. How have you managed those expectations so far?
Britt Prince: I’m just trying to be myself. I always go the extra mile—whether it’s getting up extra shots or putting in more work, I’m doing everything I can to prepare.
