Rangers go top of SWPL after 10-0 win at Dundee Utd

Date:

Rangers moved three points clear of Celtic and Hibernian at the top of the SWPL after thrashing Dundee United 10-0.

Katie Wilkinson made it 14 goals in her first five games with a first-half hat-trick, and Laura Berry also grabbed three of her own.

Kirsty Howat, Rio Hardy and Tessel Middag, along with an early own goal from United’s Megan Burns, completed the perfect 10 for Jo Potter‘s side after Celtic and Hibs fought out a goalless draw on Friday.

United remain bottom with a -34 goal difference, while Rangers’ goal tally hits 43, 24 ahead of second-placed Hibs.

Hearts edged closer to Celtic and Hibs with a 6-1 win over Motherwell.

Georgia Timms and Joely Andrews made it 2-0 at half-time before the visitors pulled one back through a Chelsie Watson free kick.

However, Emma Brownlie restored Hearts’ two-goal lead within two minutes, Monica Forsyth got her second of the season and Lisa Robertson netted before Brownlie added her second.

Glasgow City squeezed out a 2-0 victory over Spartans.

It took 30 minutes for the deadlock to be broken at Ainslie Park when Natalia Wrobel found the back of the net.

Spartans found a few chances but didn’t do a huge amount to trouble Ava Easdon, making her City debut between the sticks.

Nicole Kozlova doubled City’s advantage with six minutes before full-time to bag all three points in Edinburgh.

Partick Thistle fought back to claim a 2-2 draw against Aberdeen.

Hannah Stewart was on the scoresheet after just three minutes to give Aberdeen the lead at Firhill.

It took until the second half for the Dons to find a second when Francesa Ogilvie bent her effort into the top corner from distance.

Emma Lawton pulled one back after a scramble in the box, before Carla Boyce levelled the tie with a strong header for her first of the season.
