Real Madrid planning on new midfield signing for 2025, looking at options – report

Real Madrid have a stacked midfield department at their disposal currently with a blend of youthful exuberance and experience.

However, injuries have hampered Carlo Ancelotti & co. in the centre of the park in the early stages of the campaign while there could be a couple of departures next year as well.

After all, Luka Modric will see his contract expire at the end of the season while Dani Ceballos could again push for an exit if his game-time does not improve.

Real Madrid considering signing a new midfielder

As such, Real Madrid are planning for a possible signing in the midfield department for the summer of 2025, according to The Daily Briefing.

While there is nothing concrete at this point, the reigning champions of Spain and Europe are looking at possible options to reinforce their squad in the centre of the park.

The aforementioned report does not highlight any names as possible targets for Real Madrid but some names have been doing the rounds already.

Indeed, as has already been reported, Manchester City superstar Rodri remains high on the wishlist of club president Florentino Perez.

Snaring him away from the Premier League champions, however, will be anything but easy.

Meanwhile, Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich has also been touted as a possible option as his contract with the record Bundesliga champions expires at the end of the season.

However, Real Madrid would have to face competition from their arch-rivals Barcelona in pursuit of the German international.

With the signings of Alphonso Davies and Trent Alexander-Arnold also being planned, along with Florian Wirtz, the next summer window could be a blockbuster one at Real Madrid.
