Real Madrid star faces further legal battle over €55 million unpaid bonuses from former club

According to a recent report from SPORT, Paris Saint-Germain are gearing up for further legal battle against Kylian Mbappe over a €55 million bonus the player is entitled to after the end of his contract.

The French Football Federation recently rejected PSG’s appeal against the payment, citing a procedural error.

However, PSG are not backing down and intend to pursue the matter further through ordinary judicial channels, with the aim of compelling Mbappe to testify in court.

PSG do not want to pay

PSG’s strategy now revolves around questioning Mbappe’s position, arguing that a verbal agreement was made between the club and the player.

This alleged agreement suggested that both parties were protected, with Mbappe reportedly agreeing to forgo the renewal of his contract in exchange for the final bonuses he is now claiming.

Although this agreement was never formalised in writing, PSG insist it holds value, supported by witnesses who can confirm the terms discussed.

However, since no written documentation exists to support PSG’s claim, the French Football Federation ruled in favour of Mbappe, basing its decision solely on the signed contract between the two parties.

The Federation’s ruling has left PSG with no choice but to pursue the matter in regular courts, where the club hopes to present evidence that could potentially overturn the decision. For now, PSG are refusing to pay the bonus, leaving the situation unresolved.

Mbappe stands firm

It seems unlikely that both sides will reach a settlement where the bonus amount is reduced, as Mbappe remains firm in his belief that the €55 million is rightfully owed to him.

Even though he has signed with Real Madrid and left Paris on a free transfer, he is determined to claim the full amount of the bonus.

The outcome of the ongoing legal proceedings will ultimately determine whether PSG can avoid paying Mbappe the bonus or if the player will get what he believes he is owed.
