Rest in peace Ratan Rata! How cricket community paid tribute to one of India’s greatest icons

From Sachin Tendulkar to Rohit Sharma, several former and current cricketers took to social media to pay homage to one of the India’s most revered businessmen, who dedicated his life to the nation.

Sharing a picture with the legendary businessman, ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar said he was fortunate to spend some time with the Mr. Tata is grieving same as those who never met him, such was his profound impact.

“In his life, and demise, Mr Ratan Tata has moved the nation. I was fortunate to spend time with him, but millions, who have never met him, feel the same grief that I feel today. Such is his impact,” he wrote on X.

“From his love for animals to philanthropy, he showed that true progress can only be achieved when we care for those who don’t have the means to take care of themselves. Rest in peace, Mr Tata. Your legacy will continue to live through the institutions you built and values that you embraced,” he concluded.

“A man with a heart of gold. Sir, you will forever be remembered as someone who truly cared and lived his life to make everyone else’s better,” read a post by Rohit Sharma, India’s Test and ODI captain.

“We have lost a true Ratan of Bharat, Shri Ratan Tata ji. His life will be an inspiration for us all and he will continue to live in our hearts. Om Shanti,” posted Virender Sehwag.

“End of an era. The epitome of kindness, most inspirational, marvel of a man. Sir, you have touched so many hearts. Your life has been a blessing to the nation. Thank you for your endless and unconditional service. Your legacy will live on. Rest in glory, sir,” wrote India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav.

“End of an era as one of the greats of our country, Shri Ratan Tata Ji passes away. He will always be remembered for his invaluable contribution to our country and for being such an incredible role-model. Heartfelt condolences to all his well-wishers and admirers all around the world. Om Shanti,” VVS Laxman wrote on X.

“Mr. Ratan Tata’s contribution extends far beyond business. His legacy of giving back to society will continue to inspire future generations. Rest in peace,” India India’s legendary leg-spinner Anil Kumble posted on X.

“A true gem of Mother India!” Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir posted a brief message, paying his tribute.

“Ratan Tata sir, you dedicated your entire life to the progress of our nation. Your humility, vision, and compassion will forever inspire us. Rest in peace,” wrote Indian pacer Mohammed Shami.
