In addition to propping up the junior golf program, proceeds from the event also are distributed as scholarships to local graduating seniors. Last year, the foundation handed out three $500 scholarships to three golfers. This year, the total scholarship has increased to $2,500 with three-year renewable scholarships to be handed out. Local seniors on high school golf teams are encouraged to apply at the Joplin Golf Foundation.
