It’s time to vote for the Ponce Law girls athlete of the week for Oct. 7-12 in the Nashville area.
This week’s candidates include soccer, volleyball and state golf stars.
Here are the athletes to chose from.
Brooke Bennett, Page: Bennett finished ninth with a two-day total of 150 but helped Page capture the girls Class AA state golf championship last Friday.
Chloe Boyd, DeKalb County: Boyd took fourth overall in the AA tournament with a 71 and 74 (145) last Friday.
Mamie Carman, Lipscomb Academy: Carman recorded a hat trick with three goals and two assists as the Lady Mustangs beat St. Mary’s 9-3 in the Division II-AA state tournament’s first round on Saturday.
Tatyana Greene, Cascade: Greene finished third overall in the Class A state tournament after firing a 149 (74-75) during the two-day event last Tuesday.
Sophie Hoppe, BGA: Hoppe had eight kills in a 3-1 win over DCA in the DII-A Middle Region play-in game last Monday. She also had 10 kills and three digs in a 3-1 win over Friendship Christian last Tuesday.
Isabella Johnson, PCA: Johnson, a Tennessee commitment, shot a 3-under, 137, for the tournament with rounds of 66 and 71 to capture the DII-A girls title last Tuesday in Sevierville.
Elle Lassiter, Station Camp: Lassiter had two goals as Station Camp captured the District 9-AA tournament title with a 6-0 win over White House last Thursday.
Maleah Martinez, Fairview: Martinez scored five goals and an assist in a 9-0 win over Creek Wood last Tuesday.
Poppy Pewitt, Dickson County: Pewitt finished state runner-up in Class AA after losing in a playoff hole after finishing tied for first (140) with William Blount’s Sophia Gambini and Hardin Valley’s Addisyn Newman last Friday.
Shelby Smith, Stewart County: Smith became school’s first individual golf state champion, birding the first playoff hole to defeat Westview’s Maddie Gray for the Class A state title last Tuesday.
