An Ohio family says their 9-month-old puppy’s life was cut tragically short a week before Christmas.

The Allen family’s dog, Rocko, had greeted the two oldest children last Tuesday when they got off their school bus.
The family told WOIO, that a man stuck in nearby traffic thought Rocko was being too rough, got out of his vehicle, and shot the puppy over five times until he died.

“It hit me hard, like I didn’t expect the emotion that I even felt,” April Allen told WOIO. “But to see him like that and to see him on the ground like that just lifeless, it tore me up.”
The man accused of shooting the dog, 26-year-old Gary Hudson, has been charged with discharging a weapon into a home or school, criminal damaging and endangering, aggravated trespass, and prohibitions concerning companion animals.
The case remains under investigation by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.
