Brown’s car traveled off the road and came to rest in a ditch, and the Charger stopped in the eastbound lane of FM 70, the release said.

While no one saw the crash as it happened, two individuals who had been traveling in a vehicle behind the Charger stopped and reported it to the DPS, Sgt. Rob Mallory said.

Brown had to be extricated from the driver’s seat of the white vehicle, according to a Facebook post shared by Precinct 3 Constable Jimmy Rivera.

Both Rosa and Brown were taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi Shoreline for injuries suffered in the crash. Brown later died from his injuries at the hospital, the release said. Rosa was alert and talking.

Mallory said that an investigator told him Brown worked at the Kingsville Border Patrol Station as an agent.

The fatal crash is under investigation by troopers in the Texas DPS Corpus Christi Highway Patrol Office.

In addition to DPS troopers, officials from the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office, deputies for the Nueces County Precinct 3 constable, the Nueces County Emergency Services District No. 3, Emergency Services District No. 6, the Annaville Fire Department and EMS, and HALO-Flight were also at the scene.
