The starting lineups are in ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Arsenal

Manchester City and Arsenal have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of today’s Premier League encounter at the Etihad Stadium. A fascinating clash awaits between two teams that will likely be fighting it out for the Premier League title this season.

In a game filled with subplots how Manchester City go about breaking down Arsenal’s defence may be one of the biggest surrounding today’s match. Based on Arsenal’s approach during their 1-nil win over Tottenham last weekend Mikel Arteta’s side may sit deep and look to hit City on the counter. If that’s how the game pans out, it may be the perfect occasion for Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan to shine. But that may depend on what tactical approach Arsenal employ at the Etihad.

Here are the starting lineups for today’s massive Premier League encounter.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has made three changes to the starting lineup from City’s draw with Inter Milan. In comes Ilkay Gundogan, Kyle Walker and Jeremy Doku. Out goes Kevin De Bruyne due to injury. Jack Grealish and Rico Lewis drop to the bench.

Kevin De Bruyne was in doubt for today’s match due to an injury he sustained against Inter. In the end the Belgian international misses today’s match as he isn’t included in the match day squad.

Starting lineup: Ederson, Walker (C), Akanji, Ruben Dias, Gvardiol, Rodrigo, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Savinho, Doku, Haaland.

Substitutes: Stefan Ortega, Carson, Stones, Kovacic, Grealish, Nunes, Foden, Lewis, McAtee.
