‘Time to Prepare’ – Fabrizio Romano Reveals What Arsenal Plots to Keep PSG Target Long-Term

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly eyeing Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães amid recent reports. As a result, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared his latest information on this file.

TBR Football recently reported that PSG had a representative watching the North London Derby. Last Sunday, Arsenal clinched a 1-0 win over Spurs thanks to a goal from Gabriel.

Over the summer, PSG did add a center-back in Willian Pacho to go along with the addition of Lucas Beraldo in the January transfer window earlier this year. Nonetheless, it appears the Ligue 1 side

With his contract running until 2027, Arsenal isn’t in a rush to extend it, even with all the interest he’s attracting. Amid the rumors swirling, Romano provided more information on the Brazilian defender’s future.

“We’re hearing many rumours on Gabriel because of the stories about his contract extension, but what I can guarantee now is that nothing is close or imminent,” Romano wrote in his Daily Briefing column that was published on Friday.

“He remains a crucial player for the Gunners and remember, Arsenal rejected a very important approach from Saudi one year ago. Arsenal will take the time to prepare a new contract proposal to discuss with Gabriel at the right moment. Nothing is going on right now, but for sure, he’s part of the future planning for Arsenal.”

Since joining Arsenal in 2020, the 26-year-old has made 172 appearances for the Gunners while scoring 16 goals and recording one assist.

WhoScored also highlighted an impressive stat: since the beginning of the 2022-23 season, Gabriel has been a standout center-back, recording more Premier League clean sheets than any other player, with a total of 32.
