TJ tennis sweeps Mount Vernon

Oct. 4—Thomas Jefferson extended its perfect record in the 2024 tennis season to 8-0 with a 9-0 victory over Mount Vernon on Thursday.

The Cavaliers’ top singles player, Jeanna Jeyaraj, defeated the Mountaineers’ Adelynn Hall 8-4. Each TJ player from No. 2 to No. 6 earned an 8-3 or 8-1 victory.

Kyla Yang and Ester Yang paired up in No. 1 doubles to defeat Mount Vernon’s Hall and Raegan Pendleton 8-1. Thomas Jefferson claimed 8-2 wins in the other two doubles matches.

The Cavs are back in action on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. when hosting New Heights Christian Academy.
