The names of two people found dead inside a Penn Yan home Tuesday night in a possible murder-suicide have been released by the Penn Yan Police Department.
In a post made on the Penn Yan Police Department’s Facebook page Wednesday, at 7:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, police were called to a residence in the village where a family member found two people dead.
Officers found Michael Personale, 37, and Ashley Manaco, 38, of 127 Franklin St. in Penn Yan dead from gunshot wounds.
Personale had multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and head and Manaco had a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the neck.
Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
“Currently police are treating this as a murder suicide and are continuing to investigate what led to the incident,” police said. “Both bodies have been transported to the Monroe County Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy and officers are working with local agencies to provide support to those effected by the incident.”
