‘Unbelievable player’ – Saka says Arsenal stars have been blown away by ace who’ll score a lot this term

Arsenal have started the 2024-25 Premier League campaign on an impressive note, with most of their players firing on all cylinders, and Bukayo Saka has revealed one of his teammates has blown him and other players away.

Germany international Kai Havertz faced criticism from several quarters during the early months of his Arsenal career upon joining the Gunners from Chelsea last summer.

However, things changed when manager Mikel Arteta deployed the attacker as a number 9, and he ended 2023-24 with 13 league goals and seven assists in 37 games.

Havertz has started the new season with six goals in ten games across all competitions, and Saka believes he has more up his sleeves.

“I’ve always thought Kai’s an unbelievable player,” Saka told CBS Sports.

“Everyone in the dressing room did too. We’re so happy that he’s showing that. This season he has come out with even more confidence, I think he’s scored in almost every game.

“He’s going to score a lot of goals this season. He has a really good understanding around the box, when to attack it, and that’s why he gets a lot of chances and that’s why hopefully he’ll score a lot of goals.”

The 25-year-old has scored in each of the last four games across all competitions and will be hoping to maintain the momentum when Arsenal resume action after the October international break.

Havertz withdrew from international duty due to a knee issue he has been managing since the end of last season.

The Gunners are not sweating over his fitness and they expect him to be fully fit and firing when they return to action on October 19.

They travel to play Bournemouth after the break before hosting Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League and Liverpool in the Premier League afterwards.
