Under Armour has kept WNBA star Kelsey Plum in eye-catching player edition (PE) shoes throughout the season, and now, the brand is giving her fans a chance to buy another one of her exclusive looks.
Available now is the Under Armour Breakthru 5 “Mental Health Awareness (MHA)” PE. Under Armour said this PE is dedicated to raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention, a cause the Las Vegas Aces guard cares about deeply. (They have teamed up on PEs for this cause in the past.)
The shoes are dressed in teal and purple, which are the colors associated with suicide prevention awareness. These hues are also featured on the heel tab, which is in the shape of a ribbon, the symbol for suicide prevention awareness.
The phrase “What you water will grow” is written across the shoe’s heels, which Under Armour stated signifies “the importance of self-care and putting positive energy and effort into oneself when it comes to maintaining mental health.” The look is completed with a white outsole featuring light blue speckles.
The Under Armour Breakthru 5 “MHA” PE for Plum is available via UA.com in limited quantities and retails for $135.
This PE, however, isn’t the only shoe Under Armour has made for Plum that will release to the public as of late. To give Plum “her flowers,” the brand created the Kelsey Plum SlipSpeed Mega PE and the Breakthru 5 “Flowers” PE. These floral-themed sneakers, which are dressed in light pink and white, feature various textures and patters that Under Armour said are inspired by the headbands she has worn during tunnel walks. They also feature the athlete’s logo inside of each shoe.
The SlipSpeed Mega PE is available now in limited quantities via UA.com for $140, and the Breakthru 5 “Flowers” PE arrives Oct. 3 exclusively on Dickssportinggoods.com for $125.
