The video (above) shows a shirtless Pearsall slowly being guided by medics to an ambulance. A large crowd was gathered in the area of the shooting.
Pearsall was shot in the chest when a suspect tried to rob him and an altercation ensued. He was originally placed in serious but stable condition.
The suspect was identified as a 17-year-old from Tracy. They are in custody and charges are pending.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed called the shooting “a terrible and rare incident in Union Square.”
Pearsall, 23, was selected No. 31 by the 49ers in the 2024 NFL Draft in April. The Tempe, AZ native attended Arizona State University and the University of Florida.
