BATTLE CREEK – Meet the Battle Creek Enquirer Athletes of the Week, presented by Oaklawn Hospital.
Each week during the high school sports season, we will ask our readers to vote for the top performance of the week in all the spring sports, taking a look at events from Monday-Saturday.
Make sure to vote early and often for your pick, as the winner will be featured in an Athlete of the Week spotlight story in the Sunday edition of the Enquirer. Fans can vote for their favorite athlete until Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Addi Dzwik
St. Philip Volleyball
St. Philip won the River Valley Tournament in volleyball action on Saturday. The Tigers defeated Decatur in the championship round, 29-27, 25-23. Addi Dzwik has been strong all season as a setter for St. Philip and controlled the offense on the way to the tourney title with 40 assists.
Amiyah Gibson
Lakeview Girls Golf
Lakeview’s Amiyah Gibson was the All-City champ individually for the second year in a row. The senior shot a 35 to lead the field by four strokes at the annual All-City Girls Golf Championship on Friday at Riverside Golf Club. Lakeview was runner-up as a team. Earlier in the week, Gibson was also match medalist at the final Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference golf tournament, shooting a 72.
Akin Olapade
Marshall Football
Akin Olapade had 205 yards rushing on 32 carries and two touchdowns to help Marshall edge Jackson Northwest in Interstate 8 Conference football, 28-27. Marshall took its first lead in the third quarter on a 30-yard touchdown run by Olapade to give the Redhawks a 20-13 advantage at the time.
Arabella Stanley
Harper Creek Girls Golf
Harper Creek won the 2024 All-City Girls Golf Championship on Friday at Riverside Golf Club, shooting a team score of 170 to take first. Senior captain Arabella Stanley helped lead her team by shooting a 41 to tie for third. Earlier in the week, Stanley also helped Harper Creek defend its title in the Interstate 8 Conference as the Beavers won the league championship tournament. Stanley tied for second in the conference tournament with a round of 89.
