West Indies cricketer Nkrumah Bonner safe after horrific car crash

Date:

West Indian batter Nkrumah Bonner was involved in a horrific car crash around 2 am India time on November 18 (Monday). He had put up a story on his Instagram account where he expressed gratitude after surviving the horrific car crash. The picture he posted showed the entire front bumper and hood of his car crushed after the accident.

Bonner, who mostly bats in the middle order for the West Indies and bowls some leg spin, made his T20I debut in 2011. However, he failed to make most of that opportunity and spent the next decade playing domestic cricket in Jamaica. He came back into the national side when he was selected for West Indies’ Test squad against England during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

He finally came into the limelight when he scored 86 and added 216 runs along with Kyle Myers (210*) on his debut Test against Bangladesh and helped West Indies chase down 395 in Chattogram, the fifth-highest in Test cricket.

Bonner became a regular in Tests for the Windies after the breakthrough knock on debut. He has scored 803 runs in 15 Test innings with an average of 38.23 and a highest score of 123.

Further details about the cause of the accident and his current health condition are awaited.
