2024 Presidents Cup Format and scoring

The Presidents Cup begins on Thursday with Round 1 matches in a four-ball format. Each match will be worth one point. In the event of a tie, both sides will receive half a point. The first team to accumulate 15.5 points over three days will win the 2024 Presidents Cup.

In the four-ball format, teams of two golfers play together. Each player plays their own ball, and the team’s score for each hole is the lower score of the two players. The higher score for each team on a hole is not counted.

The Round 2 matches that begin on Friday will be in foursomes format. The two-man teams representing each side will play against each other, with each golfer taking alternate shots until the hole is finished.

Saturday will feature both Round 3 and Round 4 matches with Round 3 using the Four-ball format and Round 4 will be the Foursome format.

Finally, Round 5 on Sunday will be in singles format and will consist of 12 one-on-one matches played on the course.
