Ole Miss women’s basketball coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin talks 2024-25
Ole Miss women’s basketball coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin met with reporters to discuss coaching turnover, transfers blending in with veterans and more
OXFORD − The Ole Miss women’s basketball team is on a streak.
After not being ranked in the Associated Press preseason poll since 1992, the Rebels have been ranked in it each of the past two seasons.
The Rebels were ranked No. 20 in the AP preseason poll released on Tuesday.
Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin’s team returns eight players from last season’s team that went 24-9 and finished 12-9 in SEC play. The Rebels beat Marquette in the NCAA Tournament before falling 71-56 to No. 2 Notre Dame.
Fifth-year guard Madison Scott returns to lead the team. She was recently named to the second-team All-SEC squad.
McPhee-McCuin dipped into the transfer portal this season to fill out her roster. Forward Christeen Iwuala (UCLA), forward Starr Jacobs (Arkansas-Pine Bluff) and guard Tameiya Sadler (Colorado) are new portal additions.
Ole Miss’ season begins overseas against USC. That game will be played in Paris, France, on Nov. 4. It will air on ESPN at 11 a.m. CT.
