The ongoing 1st Test match between Pakistan and England has witnessed historic records being broken one after the other, with both set of teams piling up the runs, with no end in sight.

After Pakistan posted 556 runs in the first innings courtesy of skipper Shan Masood 151, England’s reply with the bat has been nothing short of brutal as Joe Root and Harry Brook recorded a mammoth 454-run partnership.

Root was dismissed on 262 after equaling Sachin Tendulkar’s double century record and becoming first England batter to score 20000 runs in international cricket.

Harry Brook (317) on the other hand, has been at his destructive best smashing sixes all over the ground and has now scored a triple-century, breaking Virender Sehwag’s 309 record at Multan from 2004.

With England approaching a world record for the highest team total in Test history, they have now found themselves with the three biggest scores in the top five list.

Sri Lanka’s 952/6 against India at Colombo tops the list and with the record in sight and plenty of batting talent down the order, the team under head coach Brendon McCullum will have the target well on sight.
