Stand aside Roberto Carlos, because Brazilian football has produced a new king of mad swerving free-kicks.
Well actually, Rómulo Otero is Venezuelan, but he plays for Brazilian side Santos, and this week scored an amazing free-kick in his side’s 2-0 Brasileirão victory over Coritiba.
And you can see in the video below how Otero has perfected the art of the swerving knuckle ball in training. The angle of the strike from behind the goal is even crazier.
That’s why they call him the Scorpion.
