📣 Arne Slot on Liverpool injuries and Brighton rematch

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has revealed that injured duo Alisson and Diogo Jota could rejoin the squad after this month’s international break.

Both men have been sidelined for a few weeks and will certainly miss the Reds clash with Brighton on Saturday.

But when asked about the pair’s potential return, Slot refused to give an exact date.

“I’ve said it already a few times, always difficult to tell you exactly when they are ready as last phase of recovery can be a few days later or less,” he told reporters.

“Let’s see if they can join us after the international break.

Slot also commented on Federico Chiesa and his return to fitness, having struggled since joining the club over the summer.

“Chiesa is not back before the international break. We are hoping he can do things in the international break then join us.”

Liverpool face Brighton for a second time in the space of just three days, with Slot insisting things will be different in the league this weekend

“It’s not that strange. In the older European competitions you played the same team twice in a week.

“It’s not weird as the two teams will start with different teams on Saturday which is a positive for both managers.

“Players make the team, so players are different. That changes the game on Saturday compared to Wednesday.”

Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League just one point behind leaders Manchester City.
