🚨 Man Utd finally seal €60m deal for PSG midfielder

Date:

Manchester United have completed the signing of long-term midfield target Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Uruguayan was a top priority for the Red Devils all summer but a move could only be pursued after they agreed the sale of Scott McTominay to Napoli.

United will reportedly pay an initial fee of €50m for Ugarte, with PSG in line to net another €10m through add-ons.

He has signed a deal until June 2029 at Old Trafford but has not been registered in time to make his debut against Liverpool this weekend.

“It is an incredible feeling to join a club of this magnitude; one that is admired all around the world,” said Ugarte on the move. “The project that the football leadership discussed with me is extremely exciting; Manchester United is an ambitious club and I am an ambitious player.

“The passion of supporters is something that is very important to me; I know how incredible United fans are and I cannot wait to experience Old Trafford.

“I’m someone who is so determined to succeed; I will sacrifice and give everything for my teammates. Together we will fight to win trophies and reach the level where this club needs to be.”

It sees the 23-year-old leave the Parc des Princes just one year after arriving from Sporting CP, with PSG breaking even on the deal having paid €60m to sign him last summer.

Ugarte has also won 22 caps for his country.
