Gabby Williams – Fenerbahce

Small Forward

Birth Date: September 9, 1996 (28 years old)
Height: 1.80m (5ft 11in)
Nationality: FRA

Very much a marquee and statement signing for reigning champions Fenerbahce, the already highly regarded Williams comes into this season having been sensational at the Women’s Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024. She led France brilliantly and showcased her amazing leadership, defensive intensity and ability to slice to the hoop and use her athleticism to great effect. She’s very much potential MVP material.

Marine Johannes – CBK Mersin

Guard

Birth Date: January 21, 1995 (29 years old)
Height: 1.77m (5ft 10in)
Nationality: FRA

What a coup for the history-chasing CBK Mersin. Determined to capture an elusive first title, the addition of Johannes is huge. A momentum-shifter, difference-maker and incredible entertainer, watching the Turkish team play just became more fun. Another French player on top form who helped her country take Olympic silver, the spotlight will be on her as always and she will deliver with her crazy-good scoring and creative ability.

Alina Iagupova – Valencia Basket Club

Guard / Small Forward

Birth Date: February 9, 1992 (32 years old)
Height: 1.86m (6ft 1in)
Nationality: UKR

Having switched to the Spanish club last season from Mersin, being in Valencia from the very start of this new campaign could be key. She’ll be out to re-discover the form she previously showed when two-time EuroLeague Women MVP at Fenerbahce. Her trademark sky-high three-pointers, strength and skills getting to the basket and all-around ridiculous firepower means she could be the baller that takes Valencia to their first Final Six.

Ezi Magbegor – ZVVZ USK Praha

Center

Birth Date: August 13, 1999 (25 years old)
Height: 1.93m (6ft 4in)
Nationality: AUS

The Aussie center signed off at Paris 2024 with that extraordinary performance in the Third Place Game – in one of the best individual displays ever at the Games. Scooping silver, Magbegor reminded us all of her levels and having already logged one standout year with Praha, everyone will be expecting her to repeat this and perhaps be even better. Athletic, highly mobile and with big shot-blocking ability, she rarely has an off-night.

Emma Meesseman – Fenerbahce

Forward

Birth Date: May 13, 1993 (31 years old)
Height: 1.93m (6ft 4in)
Nationality: BEL

There’s barely anything left to say about a colossus like Meesseman who has been one of the best ballers in the world for some time and is out to secure a record-breaking seventh EuroLeague Women title. Immense at both ends of the floor, she will be the go-to player for the current holders. Her all-around play is just exceptional and since she’s a top-drawer clutch player, she will do her thing and shine in the biggest moments.

Mariella Fasoula – Perfumerias Avenida

Center

Birth Date: September 2, 1997 (27 years old)
Height: 1.92m (6ft 4in)
Nationality: GRE

There will be plenty of smiles in Salamanca when Fasoula steps back into the competition having been ruled out with a long-term injury. The hugely popular Greek center is a real handful for any opposing team because of her size and ability in the low or high post. With talented teammates around her in the paint for the Spanish club, she will likely ease her way in, but by the crunch end of the season, could have a huge say in Avenida’s destiny.

Karlie Samuelson – CBK Mersin

Guard

Birth Date: May 10, 1995 (29 years old)
Height: 1.83m (6ft 0in)
Nationality: GBR

Another very popular player who once also represented Perfumerias Avenida, the devastating perimeter play of Samuelson will be harnessed by CBK Mersin this season. Even if the Turkish club’s roster is stacked and minutes are not even guaranteed, you get the sense that the ability to call upon such instant offense will be something they do a lot and Samuelson is capable of stepping up. Last season she was crowned a EuroCup Women winner, and Finals MVP.

Bridget Carleton – Uni Gyor

Guard / Small Forward

Birth Date: May 22, 1997 (27 years old)
Height: 1.85m (6ft 1in)
Nationality: CAN

Another wing star who can turn games with her play from long-range, Carleton is such a tough performer and will not only bring a threat from downtown. She will mix it up and showed her influence as Canada’s best player at Paris 2024. Carleton is loved by the Gyor fans who saw her in their colors last season. They realize that she is a class act and capable of putting the team on her shoulders if needed. She’s also admired by fans further afield too!

Raquel Carrera – Valencia Basket Club

Forward

Birth Date: October 31, 2001 (22 years old)
Height: 1.90m (6ft 3in)
Nationality: ESP

When Carrera steps back into the mix for the title-chasing Valencia it will be an emotional moment for the frontcourt ace. She missed the Olympics because if an injury earlier this year and even if she will probably not be in full flow until the second half of this season, she will still be huge for her team. Still only 22-years-old she is such a great contributor at both ends. Buckets, boards, great defense and composure, she has it all.

Brionna Jones – ZVVZ USK Praha

Center

Birth Date: December 18, 1995 (28 years old)
Height: 1.90m (6ft 3in)
Nationality: USA

Having played with Praha for multiple seasons, Jones was not around last season, but is making a return to the Czech powerhouse for 2024-25 and so should fit seamlessly into the setup. Capable of putting up some eye-popping numbers, her scoring and rebounding ability means she will collect double-doubles regularly and will take some stopping. With Jones back on board, she could be the final piece of the puzzle to Praha winning it all.
