10 Remote Jobs That Pay Up To $120,000+ In 2025

Date:

It’s 2025: welcome to the year of change.

The last five years of the 2020 decade promise to be a wild ride and, in many cases, are extremely optimistic as far as the job market is concerned. Factors like technology adaptation and advancement, the economy, climate change, and working-age populations are major players in driving the significant shifts that have already begun to disrupt the workforce.

As a direct result of these conditions, it is projected that by 2030, “92 million jobs will be displaced, and 170 million new ones will be created, a net increase of 78 million,” says Coursera CEO Jeff Maggioncalda in his summary of the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs report.

The WEF report, which surveyed more than 1,000 employers globally—accounting for more than 14 million workers across 22 industry clusters—revealed that as part of the significant changes to be expected for the next five years, the job market will experience an upheaval that is primarily dictated by new tech and the ongoing skills gap. This could impact your job, so it’s crucial to be aware of which jobs are experiencing a decline and which ones are surging in demand—especially if you’re looking for remote jobs.

From WEF’s analysis, the roles that will soon be obsolete (check here for the complete list) include:

  • Postal service clerks
  • Bank tellers and related clerks
  • Data entry clerks
  • Cashier and ticket clerks
  • Admin assistants and secretaries
  • Telemarketers
  • Legal secretaries

Even from a casual observation of this list of jobs that will soon be extinct, it’s evident that the jobs impacted are usually admin and clerical roles, regardless of the industry. They also include in-person work such as door-to-door sales, street vendors, and transportation conductors.

However, on the flip side, the roles that are gaining in demand frequently feature in the industries with the most remote jobs, such as finance and tech.

  1. Remote big data specialists (for example, a lead big data engineer can make $174,359 to $211,439 on average in the United States)
  2. Remote FinTech engineers (average pay of $112,000 to $167,000)
  3. Remote AI and machine learning specialists (a senior developer can make between $101,347 and $159,482 in the United States, with some salaries being reported as high as up to half a million)
  4. Remote software and applications developers (average salary between $104,845 and $129,253)
  5. Remote security management specialists (average salary for a security consultant is $97,475 to $116,109)
  6. Remote data warehousing specialists (average salary between $112,117 to $136,337)
  7. Remote UI and UX designers (average salary between $105,141 to $129,094)
  8. Remote data analysts and scientists (average salary between $110,900 to $136,089)
  9. Remote information security analysts (average salary between $91,317 to $148,758)
  10. Remote DevOps engineers (average salary between $114,923 and $143,093)

Although most of these remote jobs are mainly within the tech industry (salaries are taken from Salary.com), that doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t find a remote job anywhere else. However, if you want to earn significant money, especially if you desire to make six figures and you wish to work remotely, working in tech is one of the easiest ways to accomplish this goal. All the jobs above pay up to $120,000 and above, except the security consultant role.

Where To Find These Remote Jobs In 2025

To find remote jobs like those listed above, it’s best to look at specialist remote and industry-specific job boards. For example:

You should also tap into your network. Step outside of your comfort zone, attending industry conferences, joining industry networking and professional associations and LinkedIn groups, and connecting with decision-makers and hiring managers for these roles on LinkedIn.

By following these tips and aligning your focus with your goals as well as what is in demand and paying the most right now, you can secure a remote job this year that checks all the boxes and be part of the wave of positive change in the workforce.
