The 2024 AIA Badminton State Championships are underway, with singles and doubles competition taking place this past weekend and the team tournament beginning Monday in Division I and II and concluding on Nov. 2 Here are first-round matches for the team tournament, along with team seedings and regular season records. All opening-round matches take place Monday at 4 p.m., at the higher-seed’s home court. Winners advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday. Also listed are singles and doubles champions.

Doubles championship match: No. 3 seeds Payton Crank and Paige Kroening of Pinnacle defeated No. 1 seeds Shreya Deshpande and Katheryn Yi of Hamilton 15-21, 21-19, 21-18.
DIVISION II SINGLES/DOUBLES FINALS
Singles championship match: No. 1 seed Hadley Huffman of Chaparral defeated No. 2 Madison Nguyen of Ironwood 21-11, 21-19.
Doubles championship match: No. 1 seeds Sasha Tijore and Alyssa Ridgley of Ironwood defeated unseeded Sophia Tijore and Mariyah Peru-Ray of Ironwood 19-21, 21-14, 21-11.
UNIFIED FINAL
Mesa High’s Carlos Otero and Manuel Ortiz def. Sunrise Mountain’s Payton Sweeny and Trevor Collette in three games.
