Date:

Dan Hurley and the UConn men’s basketball have scored their first commitment in the class of 2025 in Darius Adams, a 6-foot-5 guard from Manasquan, New Jersey.

Adams, a consensus five-star recruit and the No. 19 player in his class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, committed to UConn after visiting Storrs earlier in September.

UConn edged out Michigan State, Tennessee, NC State, and Alabama for Adams, who his currently playing his final season of high school ball in Indiana for the La Lumiere School. Adams bumped up his official visit to UConn from October to mid-September before committing to the Huskies.

Adams, one of the top shooting guards in the 2025 class, was a priority for the Huskies due to his ability to play both guard positions. He’s regarded as a player with a smooth shooting stroke and range as a pull-up or spot-up shooter.
