Scouting #21 Creighton (0-1)
The Bluejays opened its season with a challenge, facing South Dakota State in a road game as the Jackrabbits opened their renovated arena. As expected in the first game of the season there were some bumps in the road, but the turning point against the Jackrabbits was on the glass. Specifically a pair of offensive rebounds on missed free throws by SDSU that resulted in four and five-point plays in the first half.
Lauren Jensen led Creighton with 23 points, while Kiani Lockett was sharp in her first start. Lockett finished with 12 points on 5-of-7 from the field. She also dished out three assists and did not turn the ball over.
