4 players the Steelers could trade up for in the 2025 NFL draft

Date:

The Pittsburgh Steelers currently hold the No. 21 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. We’ve already talked about the guys who realistically will be available and make the most sense for the Steelers but what about in a trade up? This draft has some very interesting talent at positions of need for the Steelers and while we aren’t advocating a trade into the top 10, moving up a few spots could open up a completely different group of players.

Here are four prospects the Steelers should consider trading up for in the 2025 NFL draft.

1 – WR Matthew Golden – Texas

A case can be made after his strong combine that Golden is the best wide receiver in this draft. We still think Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan will come off the board first but waiting around for Golden to drop is just wishful thinking at this point.

2 – DT Kenneth Grant – Michigan

Another player who was a realistic option for the Steelers has risen enough in the offseason that he’s going to be out of reach without a trade. Pittsburgh needs serious help along the defensive line and Grant would provide them the type of strength at the line of scrimmage to significantly improve the run defense.

3 – WR Luther Burden III – Missouri

Another receiver who impressed at the combine and is climbing back up draft boards is Burden. He’s one of the most complete receivers in this draft and one of only three who can really make the claim they are a legit No. 1 receiver as a rookie.

4 – OL Armand Membou – Missouri

If the Steelers want to go off script a little and make a true Steelers pick, they could go up and get Membou who is capable of being an elite starter at guard or tackle. Pittsburgh could have some nice options at No. 21 but Membou would be the one guy we’d trade up to get.
