45-year-old driver dies following ‘confrontation’ with other driver

Date:

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Department of Public Safety released details Sunday about a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that followed a Nov. 29 “confrontation” between two drivers.

According to DPS, 45-year-old John Paul Ramirez and another driver had exited their vehicles on US 290 and Nutty Brown Road in Hays County. The agendy did not release details about what caused the confrontation.

During the incident, Ramirez “fell into the eastbound lane and was struck by an oncoming vehicle,” DPS said. First responders transported him to an Austin hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Department has since arrested the other driver and charged them in connection to Ramirez’s death, according to DPS.

DPS said their investigation into the crash is ongoing as of Sunday afternoon.
