7’3″-Tall 13-Year-Old Basketball Phenom Becomes Internet Sensation

Date:

Clips of Canadian basketball phenom Jeremy Gohier, who at 13 years of age is already 7 feet and 3 inches tall, towering over his teenage opponents have been going viral online.

Jeremy Gohier is not your average 13-year-old. He is already considerably taller than the average NBA player (6-foot-6) so he usually makes short work of his teenage opponents, dunking on them with ease, blocking shots effortlessly, and moving around the court without anyone being able to stop him. His athleticism and basketball skills are nothing to scoff at, but it is Jeremy’s impressive frame that has everyone talking about him these days. In the video highlights doing the rounds on social media, Gohier looks so dominant that you can’t help but feel a bit bad for the kids having to play against him.

The young phenom is currently enrolled in the Sport-Études program at Georges-Vanier High School, but people are already talking about his promising future, as he has the potential to be a top Division I prospect when he becomes eligible for college basketball.

With his impressive height, Jeremy Gohier has already drawn comparisons to fellow Quebec basketball sensation Olivier Rioux who at age 15 became the world’s tallest teenager (7 feet and 9 inches).

Gohier is still a long way from reaching the NBA, but he has already secured a Petro-Canada FACE grant, which supports promising Canadian athletes. It will allow him to participate in tournaments all over North America where scouts can really gauge his skills and potential
