The Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, and the Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, went to a dinner prior to the inauguration of the 2024 World Travel Market (WTM) London. Tourism operators, media outlets, and leaders of the UK tourism industry all gathered at this event.
The dinner which took place in Cavita restaurant, offered all attendees a selected tasting of Baja Californian wines, highlighting the rich winemaking culture of the region as well as provide a sample of the state’s diverse gastronomy thanks to Baja Californian chef, Ruffo Ibarra.
The Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, underscored that Baja California is the port of entry into Mexico with a solid aerial connection that makes access to the country and the United States easier. He also highlighted the diverse natural, cultural, and gastronomic attractions that make the region stand out and invited all attendees to discover everything that this state has to offer in the upcoming Tianguis Turístico 2025, which will take place in Baja California.
This meeting with industry leaders was essential for the positioning and call process of buyers and media for the 49th edition of Tianguis Turístico Mexico that will take place between April 28 and May 1, 2025 in the region. This is the first time that it is set to take place within a binational setting and boost the importance that this Mexican tourism window represents before the world.
The dinner was attended by Josefa González Blanco, Mexico Ambassador in the UK; Mariana Herrera Salcedo, Consul of Economic and Tourism Affairs; Mark Mooren, Aeroméxico Manager in the UK, Ireland, and Benelux, and José Regueira, Technical Sale Manager of Lufthansa. In addition, Jean-Sebastien Saleem, Sales and Services Manager for the Americas, and Adolfo Alonso, Strategic Alliance Accounts Manager, and others, also participated.
World Travel Market London is an important event for the world tourism industry as it has become the main meeting point for professionals of this industry since its creation in 1989. This international fair, taking place from November 5 to November7, 2024 at ExCeL London, will attract a wide variety of participants, from tourism destinations to technological corporations, providing a perfect space to establish contacts, share trends, and do business.
