Ajax confirm decision to part ways with Van ’t Schip

Date:

Ajax have confirmed that they have parted ways with John van ’t Schip by mutual consent.

Van ’t Schip took interim charge of the club in October 2023, before stepping into a technical role in Amsterdam for the remaining year of his contract.

However, an official statement has now confirmed the end of their working relationship.

“It’s unfortunate that this season didn’t unfold as we had initially envisioned. Last season, my role as head coach was the primary focus. Those were intense months, on both a professional and personal level, during which we achieved our goal of securing European football with a fifth-place finish. I want to thank Ajax, and I will never forget the fantastic support from the fans. Once an Ajacied, always an Ajacied”, Van ’t Schip told the club website.
