Newcastle Enter Race Against Man Utd, PSG to Sign Sporting Wonderkid

Under sporting advisor Luis Campos, Paris Saint-Germain has built a strong link to Portugal, bringing in top young players like Vitinha, João Neves, and Gonçalo Ramos. It seems the club is now setting its sights on another potential transfer.

PSG has developed a strategy of securing young talent before they fully reach their potential. So, who’s the latest player on the club’s radar?

According to Foot Mercato, PSG, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all keeping an eye on Sporting Lisbon’s 17-year-old prospect, Geovany Quenda. It’s no surprise to see Manchester United interested, given that their new manager, Rúben Amorim, has just come from Sporting.

CaughtOffside reported on Monday, citing sources, that Newcastle United are planning to make a move for Quenda. Currently, nothing is advanced in this deal, but the report suggests Newcastle are showing clear intent to ramp up their interest in Quenda soon, aiming to strengthen their squad with top young talent.

Quenda has made 18 total appearances across all competitions for Sporting this season, scoring two goals and recording one assist. The teenager is also under contract with the Portuguese side until 2027, so Sporting aren’t obliged to sell him now.
