Allendale basketball standout dies of kidney failure

ALLENDALE, MI – A West Michigan high school basketball standout has died.

West Michigan Ballers, citing a notice sent to students, reported that Jacksen Fitton, a senior at Allendale High School, died from kidney failure on Monday, Nov. 18.

Fitton had reportedly been in the hospital for a week dealing with kidney issues.

Fitton, a guard, had played on Allendale’s varsity team since he was a sophomore. He was named honorable mention on MLive’s OK Blue All-Conference team as a junior last season.

He played travel basketball with The Shore this past season and MBA last season, according to West Michigan Ballers.

He received an offer to play basketball at Olivet in late September, according to his X page.

Many area coaches, players, fans and community members were offering condolences and sharing memories of Fitton on social media following the news of his death.
