Tennessee basketball vs Virginia: Chaz Lanier shoots Vols to win in Baha Mar Championship

Date:

Chaz Lanier didn’t bother to dribble.

The Tennessee basketball guard got a second chance at a 3-pointer thanks to an Igor Milicic Jr. offensive rebound and he canned it. The shot started a run of 11 straight points amid a second-half scoring surge.

Lanier pummeled Virginia with a season-high 26 points to shoot No. 9 Tennessee (5-0) to a 64-42 win in the Baha Mar Championship. The Vols face No. 15 Baylor (4-1) on Friday (9:30 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network).

Lanier was 10-for-23 shooting and 6-for-12 on 3-pointers. Milicic had his third straight highly productive game with 14 points and eight rebounds. Darlinstone Dubar made his season debut after missing the first four games of the season. He had four points and three rebounds in eight minutes.

The Vols scored 30 points off 18 Virginia turnovers and had 19 second-chance points on 18 offensive rebounds against a good defensive rebounding Virginia team.
