Paulo Dybala is expected to go to the bench for Roma against Napoli on Sunday, while Artem Dovbyk will probably start but has been dealing with a knee issue for over a month.
Claudio Ranieri makes his ‘third’ debut as a Roma coach on Sunday, visiting Antonio Conte’s Napoli at the Stadio Maradona.
However, the new Giallorossi coach is far from being in an ideal position, not only because the team is just four points above the drop zone after Daniele De Rossi and Ivan Juric’s brief spells.
Roma deal with Dybala and Dovbyk fitness issues ahead of Napoli clash
Roma’s best strikers, in fact, are not fully fit.
Multiple sources, including Sky Sport Italia, report that Dybala hasn’t yet trained with the rest of the team and is expected to be on the bench at the Stadio Maradona.
Dovbyk is also not in his best shape but will still start for the Giallorossi.
Corriere dello Sport and Gazzetta say the Ukraine international has been dealing with a knee issue for over a month. Medical tests before the break ruled out any injury, but the striker still feels discomfort.
Dovbyk is Roma’s best scorer this season, with six goals in 15 matches.
