COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball is set to face Syracuse at 5 p.m. CT on Monday in the opening game of the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla. The entirety of the Thanksgiving week tournament will be streamed live on FloCollege.com.
Missouri will face either Creighton or Wichita State on Tuesday.
The Tigers enter the classic on a four-game win streak following a victory over Little Rock on Friday.
Sophomore Grace Slaughter and Nyah Wilson combined for 38 to bolster the Tigers.
Wilson contributed 19 points to mark her highest-scoring output in a Tigers uniform.
Abbey Schreacke scored seven points on Friday and has led Missouri off the bench in each game this season.
Schreacke ranks third nationally with 25 3-pointers this season and 11th in the country with 3.57 per game. She also ranks fourth in the SEC in 3-point percentage (48.1)
As a team, the Tigers are second in the conference and 16th nationally in 3-point percentage at 41.1 percent.
Slaughter is tied for 25th nationally with 27 free throw makes on the year.
Graduate forward Angelique Ngalakulondi ranks 10th in the conference with 1.7 blocks per contest.
Missouri defeated Saint Louis 112-59 on Nov. 20, the 53-point victory marked the largest win margin since the Tigers defeated Bradley 126-55 on Dec. 12, 2013 (71).
Missouri is 15-10 in Thanksgiving week tournaments in the Pingeton Era.
Syracuse enters Monday at 2-3 on the season following a loss to Albany on Nov. 20.
The Orange finished last season at 24-8 including a 13-5 record against ACC opponents before falling in the second round of the NCAA Tournament by UConn.
The Orange is coached by Felisha Legette-Jack who is in her third season with the program.
Legette-Jack played a Syracuse from 1984-89 and has compiled a 389-303 career record over 23 seasons. She previously spent 10 seasons at Buffalo from 2012-22.
The Syracuse roster is headlined by Dyaisha Fair who is averaging 22.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Creighton enters the tournament at 2-2 following a win over No. 21 Nebraska on Friday. The Blue Jays compiled a 26-6 overall record last season before falling to UCLA in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Creighton is coached by Jim Flanery who is in his 23rd season with the program and holds a 429-270 career record.
The Blue Jays are led by Lauren Jensen who averages 23.8 points and 2.5 assists per game.
Wichita State comes into the tournament with a 2-3 record after a loss to Oklahoma on Tuesday. The Shockers completed the 2023-24 campaign with a 10-22 mark before closing their season with a second-round loss to South Florida in the AAC tournament.
Wichita State is headed by Terry Nooner who is 12-25 in two seasons with the program.
The offensive production is spearheaded by Taylor Jameson who totals 13.4 points per contest.
