The Iowa State women’s basketball team’s first loss of the season led to their first drop in the Associated Press poll.

Iowa State checked in at No. 15 in the latest AP poll released Monday.

The Cyclones had previously been ranked No. 8. But after a tough week, the Cyclones took a tumble in the poll, falling seven spots.

Iowa State went 1-1 during the week including its first loss of the season. The week began with the Cyclones losing 87-75 at Northern Iowa. Four days later, Iowa State held off another in-state rival, barely beating Drake, 80-78.

There will be one big shot for the Cyclones (5-1) to move back up the rankings this week. Iowa State will take on No. 4 South Carolina on Thursday in the Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off.

South Carolina was previously ranked No. 1 before falling to UCLA on Sunday.
