No away fans to be at Ajax-Lazio due to fear of unrest

No fans of the Italian club will be welcome at the Europa League match between Ajax and Lazio on Thursday the 12th of December. This was announced by the administrative Amsterdam triangle, report ESPN.NL.

“Lazio supporters from Rome are not welcome in Amsterdam,” reports the triangle consisting of the mayor, police chief and the chief prosecutor of the Public Prosecution Service.

“The risk of punishable right-wing extremist, anti-Semitic, racist expressions and public disorder is too great.”

The judgment arrives in light of recent events – where antagonistic Maccabi Tel Aviv fans caused trouble in the Dutch capital several weeks ago.

Equal precautions are set to be in place for Lazio’s fans, of which the most extreme ‘Irriducibili Lazio’ have a track record for right-wing neofascism within its ranks.
