Eugene shooting leaves 19-year-old hospitalized

Date:

A 19-year-old man was hospitalized Tuesday night after a shooting near 13th Avenue and Lawrence Street in downtown Eugene, according to police.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital via a private vehicle, according to the Eugene Police Department.

During an on-scene investigation, officers reportedly located shell casings on Lawrence Street and an area canvass uncovered three parked vehicles had been struck by bullets.

Police said dispatchers received the “shots fired” call just after 7:30 p.m.

The shooting was one of several that were reported in the area within the last month, but it’s unclear whether any of them are connected.

On Nov. 5, EPD said it received a similar call in the area of 13th Avenue and Mill Street in Eugene. When officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly found evidence that shots had been fired. No injuries were reported.

On Nov. 1, a shooting occurred at the parking lot of an apartment complex near Mill and Ferry streets, according to police. Officers said they learned that two suspects allegedly shot at other individuals as they were leaving the apartments. The suspects had fled the scene, police said. No injuries were reported.
