Liverpool’s night was all but perfect against Real Madrid on Wednesday night except for a major blow to Conor Bradley.
The Northern Irishman delivered a stunning performance, keeping Kylian Mbappe in his pocket for most of the night.
Bradley also provided the crucial assist for Alexis Mac Allister’s opener and was a lively threat going forward.
Once and for all, proving he can be an astute back-up solution in the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
However, right towards the end of the game, he went down with what seemed like a hamstring issue and Liverpool were forced to take him off the pitch.
Liverpool have been handed a major injury scare to two key players against Real Madrid.
As Conor Bradley was forced off the pitch against the Spanish giants, there was another worrying injury update for Liverpool right at the end of the game.
Ibrahima Konate left the pitch limping after the final whistle and was surrounded by several members of the Liverpool medical staff.
It is not known what had caused the issue. Konate had produced a strong performance and did not seem to be struggling before the final whistle.
He did have a couple of clashes with Brazilian forward, Endrick, who had come on for the final few minutes. However the Liverpool defender seemed fine until the end of the game.
Cameras showed Konate on the floor close to tears being examined by a crowd of Liverpool’s staff before footage emerged on social media of him walking off the pitch in discomfort.
Arne Slot issues Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley injury updates
Speaking after the game to reporters in his post-match press conference Slot revealed he doesn’t know the full extent of Konate’s nor Bradley’s injury.
“It’s difficult to judge so soon after the game. I’m really hoping that both will be available to play,” he said.
The comment is certainly optimistic, but Liverpool will now face an anxious wait hoping both are cleared fit for arguably one of the biggest games of the season on Sunday.
Four things missed in Liverpool vs Real Madrid including EMPHATIC Mo Salah FSG message
There were plenty of things to take not of from Liverpool’s victory against Real Madrid.
Anfield was buzzing as a firing Liverpool welcomed Real Madrid in the Champions League.
This was a Real Madrid that had been battered by injuries and Carlo Ancelotti was very much forced to field a weakened side.
However, take nothing away from Liverpool, Arne Slot’s side dominated the European champions and gave very little away.
And it’s important to mention this was a Liverpool side also missing key players. Alisson and Diogo Jota would arguably be starters in this team.
Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold was only fit enough for the bench meaning Conor Bradley had to step in his place, and he stepped up indeed coming up against Kylian Mbapppe.
But there was also an emphatic message sent to FSG about Mohamed Salah.
