Crystal Palace loanee Brooke Aspin has sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury whilst on international duty with England Under-23s.
The Football Association confirmed the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.
The 19-year-old centre-back who is on loan at Crystal Palace from Chelsea, started England Under-23s’ European WU23 Competition fixture against Norway at the Fredrikstad Stadion on Thursday. The player sustained an injury during the first half of the match and was replaced by Teyah Goldie. England went on to record a goalless draw with Norway.
Aspin’s injury has now been fully-assessed by the England medical staff and it has been confirmed that she has ruptured her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). The defender will now begin her rehabilitation and will be sidelined until next season. Aspin’s loan spell with Crystal Palace is set to end early to allow the player to be guided through the rehabilitation process back at parent club Chelsea.
The youngster made six appearances for Crystal Palace prior to her injury. She was most recently seen in a red and blue shirt when Crystal Palace defeated Charlton Athletic 2-0 in the Women’s League Cup last weekend.
Aspin is yet to feature for parent club Chelsea since joining the club from Bristol City in summer 2023.
