Fort Clark Gastropub will close its grill location inside of Northwoods Mall after a final day on Dec. 3. The business shared news of the impending closure in a Nov. 29 Facebook post.
The announcement read in part: “During these last days support is greatly needed as I adventure off to keep pushing forward on my dreams!! I know when people hear about closings they figure it’s over well that’s not the case here as I have been working on something really great and cool to show people here soon as most knows I don’t stop I elevate!!”
Fort Clark is working to open a new location at 1869 Washington Road in Washington, according to a video posted in late October.
The establishment was previously home to Cranwill’s Bar & Grill – which closed after less than three months in business. Before that, the space had once been home to Cummins Restaurant. The restaurant announced it was moving to a different location in 2021.
Shortly after sharing its November announcement, Fort Clark turned off commenting on the post and asked the community to remain positive.
The comment stated in part: “DON’T BE SAD BE HAPPY EVERYONE KNOWS THIS NOT A BAD THING FOR US PLEASE STAY POSITIVE SEE US SOON AT NEXT LOCATION WHICH WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER SUITABLE FOR OUR NEEDS TO SERVE YALL!!”
Earlier this year, Fort Clark was voted No. 1 in the Journal Star’s French fry face-off.
