Tony Cottee shares strong eight-word reaction after West Ham loss v Leicester City

It was another chastening night for West Ham United, as they lost 3-1 to Leicester City in the Premier League.

The Hammers made a disastrous start to the away encounter, conceding a goal after only 98 seconds.

Jamie Vardy beat the offside trap before slotting home an expert finish to put his side ahead.

West Ham threatened to equalise on several occasions, but their efforts were unsuccessful due to a Mads Hermansen’s excellence in goal.

Bilal El Khannouss extended Leicester’s advantage at the hour mark before Patson Daka wrapped up a brilliant success with a late third.

Niclas Fullkrug pulled one back in stoppage-time, but it was no consolation for the Irons’ fans.

Ex-West Ham star Tony Cottee was far from impressed with his former team’s display at the King Power Stadium, as he issued a strong reaction after the 3-1 defeat.

The 59-year-old was unhappy with Lopetegui’s appointment in the summer, as he wanted the club to bring in a dynamic young British manager.

Cottee posted the following comments on X (formerly Twitter): “I don’t really need to say anything else ?!!”

Lopetegui’s appointment in the summer promised an exciting, attacking brand of football at the club.

However, the Spaniard has completely failed to implement his style of play at the London Stadium, despite signing nine new players.

The former Real Madrid coach doesn’t seem to have a vision, as he is constantly changing formation and personnel.

Last night, he went with the 4-2-3-1 system, axing Lucas Paqueta and starting Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez in the middle of the park.

However, his tactics failed and they once again ended up on the losing side.
