Jonathan Tah of Bayer Leverkusen has been a subject of interest for FC Barcelona since the summer transfer window earlier this year.
While a move did not materialise, the Blaugrana have continued their interest in the German international, knowing that he will become a free agent at the end of the season as he does not wish to renew his contract with the Bundesliga champions.
Deal close?
In fact, Jijantes FC has now come forward with a major update with regard to Barcelona and their pursuit of Jonathan Tah for the summer of 2025.
As per the report, Barça sporting director Deco flew to Germany today afternoon and held a meeting with Tah and his agent at a restaurant in Leverkusen.
It is claimed that both parties walked very satisfied from the meeting, which could suggest that a transfer could very well be on the horizon at the end of the season.
Tah is represented by Pini Zahavi, who has excellent relations with the Barcelona administration and it has played a part in the discussions progressing positively.
It must be noted that Tah has been attracting interest from several other big clubs across Europe, but Deco seems to be upping the ante in order to close the deal as early as possible.
Tah will be free to come to a pre-contract agreement with a club of his desire starting January, as he enters the final six months of his contract at Leverkusen.
And, it seems like Deco and Barcelona have laid down the groundwork for the same with today’s meeting which ended positively for both parties.
