6 big changes | Expected Man Utd line-up (3-4-2-1) vs Forest with double boost for Amorim

Manchester United take on Nottingham Forest in today’s late Premier League kick-off at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils suffered their first defeat under manager Ruben Amorim on Wednesday night. They were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal on the road after a disappointing second-half display.

Amorim will want a strong response against Forest and we could see plenty of rotation once more.

The Portuguese made six changes for the win over Everton. He made another six changes for the trip to Arsenal and we could see something similar against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Ahead of the game, the manager has received a big selection boost with Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo back in contention after missing the Arsenal loss due to suspensions.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Predicted Line-up:

Andre Onana has been an undisputed starter in goal and he has played every minute in the Premier League for United since his arrival from Inter Milan last year.

The Cameroonian had a busy night at the Emirates Stadium where he made a couple of crucial saves. The margin of defeat could have been wider. He is guaranteed to start.

The back three could see a solitary change. Martinez should return after his recent suspension. We anticipate him to partner Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt.

Harry Maguire should drop to the bench. Leny Yoro had a good cameo replacing Maguire in midweek, but he may not be risked from the starting XI after his long injury lay-off.

Diogo Dalot should start at left wing-back today with Amad Diallo being reinstated at right wing-back. Tyrell Malacia is expected to drop to the substitutes’ bench once more.

The midfield could be different from Wednesday. Amorim has dropped a big hint that Manuel Ugarte will be on the bench. We anticipate Casemiro to replace him in the number six role.

Mainoo should accompany the Brazilian in midfield after his one-game domestic ban. This obviously means Bruno Fernandes will start in one of the number 10 positions behind the striker.

He could be partnered by Marcus Rashford with Joshua Zirkzee leading the line. Alejandro Garnacho, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund are expected to start on the bench as part of the rotation.
