Man Utd Poised to Revisit Interest in €60M-Rated Liverpool, PSG-Linked Ace Amid Struggles at Barcelona

In October, SPORT reported that Manchester United, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich have all shown interest in Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, with Paris Saint-Germain also monitoring his situation closely.

While de Jong remains dedicated to Barcelona, PSG’s track record of signing players from the Catalan club keeps them in the conversation as a possible destination heading into the summer of 2025.

PSG have bolstered their midfield in recent years with additions like Vitinha, Fabián Ruiz, and João Neves. Meanwhile, journalist Ferran Correas recently hinted that Barcelona could be open to selling de Jong next summer.

Spanish outlet Fichajes reports that the Dutchman is struggling under new manager Hansi Flick, which could lead to a potential departure. Manchester United are among the clubs tipped to keep a close eye on the situation.

This week, the same outlet reported that Liverpool are considering Frenkie de Jong as a potential replacement. With Barcelona facing ongoing financial challenges and de Jong’s substantial wages of around £300,000 per week, the Catalan club could be open to selling if the right offer comes along.

De Jong’s current contract runs until 2026, and while he hasn’t signed an extension, Barcelona might eventually weigh up selling him. The report doesn’t specify an asking price, but Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €60 million.
